Corinne and David - Music Festival Wedding

Corinne and David - Music Festival Wedding

David and Corinne first met 6 years ago when they worked together at the (sadly) now closed Krypton Discs in Glenelg. Their mutual love of music drew them together and so it was only fitting that their wedding day had a healthy helping of quality live music as well.

They took their special day to the next level by introducing an upmarket (with mismatched vintage furniture from By The Oaktree & toilets that worked!) music festival vibe complete with picnic blankets and an awesome food truck at Karka Pavilion in the Belair National Park.

Jenna and Brent - A Bohemian Affair

Jenna and Brent - A Bohemian Affair

Jenna and Brent first met in high school over 10.5 years ago. And even though they were always close, nothing ever happened between them.

Their wedding at Longview Vineyard, captured beautifully by Ellen Heather Photography, was warm and relaxed and their decor featured lashings of deep red accents, oriental rugs and unstructured florals. Their bridal party entourage was as cool as they were well dressed and the atmosphere was simply a laid back celebration of love and life.

London calling - Leonie and Lee

London calling - Leonie and Lee

Lee and Leonie value their families and close friendships above everything else; in fact, this was one of the qualities that first attracted them to each other. With all of Lee's family in England and all of Leonie's family in Australia, they decided to chase this sunshine with an Adelaide hills winery wedding and timed it to maximise the number of friends and family who could make it from overseas.

It was imperative for them to be able to relax, laugh and truly enjoy their guests' company on their wedding day and Barrister's Block in Woodside was the perfect backdrop for their laidback celebration. So much love and warmth.

I hope you enjoy their photos from Leonie's very talented brother, Pete Thornton and Karina from What Pete Shot.

Warm heart wedding - Denelle and Chris

Warm heart wedding - Denelle and Chris

On a wild and stormy afternoon in November 2009, I married the gorgeous Jenna and Mat in a joyful and fun ceremony at the Adelaide Sailing Club. And you know the superstition about rain on your wedding day and fertility, right? Well, 5.5 years and 3 children later, Mat and Jenna are just as gorgeous as the day they were married.

3 smart ways to include family in your ceremony

3 smart ways to include family in your ceremony

Your mum and dad have stuck by you through all your awkward phases. Including your desperate pleas for a horse at 8 (of course I will feed it every day, Dad!), your emo phase at 14 (black was the new black) and your obsession with a really, really dodgy local band at 21 (don't deny it, you know it's true). And if your siblings are anything like mine, they would have mocked and teased you mercilessly through the aforementioned phases.

But here you are, planning your wedding and you really want to acknowledge and include them in your big day. Sure, your dad can walk you down the aisle, but what are your other options?

DIY vs Delegation - a cautionary tale

DIY vs Delegation - a cautionary tale

Once upon a time there was a savvy, no nonsense bride. Let's call her Jackie* (*bride's name has been changed to protect the overly ambitious). Jackie was planning the wedding to the man of her dreams on a pretty tight budget, but she knew what she wanted and figured; "hey, I'm a pretty smart/creative/resourceful woman. Why should I pay an arm and a leg for some things if I can learn how to do them myself AND get the satisfaction of having worked hands-on on our decor/flowers/signage/invitations/midnight snack boxes/hot chocolate spoons/limoncello cocktail favours etc.?"
